OXH Gallery presents
One In The Hand, Two In The Fold
an exhibition curated by Erin Titus and Kaylin Price.
July 17 – September 18, 2025
The immediacy of the internet offers limitless potential and tools designed to reinforce a narrative of perpetual reinvention of the self. These tools, whether physical products or ideas, fulfill a need for an individual to optimize into their best self and allow the freedom to buy back into the market- creating more demand to optimize through each cyclical return. Maximal obedience is required from the individual, who is rewarded with an effortless presentation that reinforces their personal brand or “lifestyle”. A preemptively controlled narrative, the optimized individual is an idealized mirage of the self, one who’s various forms of unpaid work go unnoticed.
One In The Hand, Two In The Fold is a curated group show that showcases the commodification of labor for personal branding and the cyclical relationship this creates between the individual and marketplace. Selecting artists that work through a variety of media to emphasize personal brand through introspective celebration and critique, we aim to highlight the adaption of the self in accelerated capitalism and demand.
Participating artists include Camilla Byrd, Catalina Cheng, Eli Craven, George Goldberg, Sydney Hunter Kleinrock, Erin Lingard, and Becca Wahl.
